BE-Wind – How?
The Evolution Of Wind (“EOW”) product line is unique in the history of small wind turbine technology. It’s the only dual-axis vertical wind system with a deflector (diversion) shield on the market today. The EOW is the highest performing, most efficient, most reliable small urban wind turbine in its class on the market today.
Why add wind to the renewable equation?
As you can see in the image below, annual solar production peaks in the summer (blue line) and annual wind production peaks in the winter (red line). A hybrid system creates a significantly more stable annual energy production profile (green line).
Simplified Theory of Design and Operation
Safety and Noise
Our system has two opposing vertical turbines which form a self-created “weather” environment consisting of high-pressure zones and a central low-pressure zone. This increases performance and efficiency, while at the same time reducing the noise level by half! This unique environment creates a natural muffler effect, producing only 35-40 db at full speed (full speed = 400 RPM/35 mph wind).
Our wind turbines have a self-regulating braking system (regardless of the wind speed). The turbine will naturally restrict its RPM speeds to rates of 350-400 rpm, even in the most severe storms.
- Unique, patented design blocks the resistance caused by the wind flow to the backside of the blades, thereby allowing power to be generated at very low wind speeds.
- Operating at lower winds means the EOW can easily operate on rooftops, or poles that are ~10-20 feet off the ground versus 50-100 feet and in areas where traditional wind turbines would not be used
